PET+OPP Composite Film for Garment Packaging Bags

PET+OPP Composite Film for Garment Packaging Bags

Transparent clothing packaging bags used for e-commerce, garment factories and retail stores often use PET+OPP composite film. Unlike a single plastic film, this structure combines PET film and OPP film to balance strength, appearance, flexibility and sealing performance.

What Is PET+OPP Composite Film?

PET+OPP is a two-layer flexible packaging structure. PET is normally used as the outer layer, while a suitable heat-sealable OPP grade can serve as the inner layer. Through adhesive lamination, the two films form a stable composite material for garment packaging.

This combination helps overcome the limitations of using either film alone and is suitable for T-shirts, shirts, trousers, underwear, hoodies and other clothing products.

PET Film: Strength and Printability

PET, or polyethylene terephthalate, provides excellent dimensional stability, tensile strength, stiffness and surface quality. It helps the finished bag maintain a neat appearance and provides a smooth surface for high-quality printing.

For branded garment packaging, PET can support sharp logos, product information and decorative graphics. Its good mechanical strength also improves resistance to stretching and handling during transportation and storage.

However, PET itself is generally not suitable as the sole sealing layer. It is relatively rigid and requires another suitable film layer to provide practical bag sealing performance.

OPP Film: Flexibility and Sealing

OPP, or oriented polypropylene, offers high transparency, good flexibility and a lightweight feel. When a heat-sealable OPP grade is selected, it can provide the sealing function required for garment bags.

The OPP inner layer can also provide a softer contact surface for clothing while maintaining good product visibility. Its combination of clarity and flexibility makes it widely used in transparent packaging applications.

Why Choose PET+OPP for Clothing Packaging?

The two materials complement each other. PET provides strength, stiffness, printability and surface protection, while OPP provides flexibility and sealing performance.

The finished packaging can offer a clean, transparent appearance together with useful protection against dust and moisture during storage, handling and shipping. It is particularly suitable for e-commerce garment fulfillment, retail packaging and bulk clothing distribution.

Compared with ordinary PE bags, PET+OPP packaging can provide a more structured appearance and better printing quality. Compared with PET alone, the composite structure can provide practical heat-sealing performance when the correct OPP sealing layer is used.

For garments with sharp metal accessories, zippers or heavy hardware, a thicker structure or additional inner protection may be recommended to improve puncture resistance.

Applications and Custom Options

PET+OPP garment packaging film can be customized according to bag size, film thickness, transparency, printing requirements and sealing method. It is suitable for clothing manufacturers, garment brands, e-commerce sellers and packaging distributors looking for a professional transparent packaging solution.
